Having a pure heart and good intentions for others is often the desired behaviour that has seen the birth of many successfully functioning communities.

Without these acts of goodwill, the vulnerable will suffer even more and never see the light that carries hope for their current situations.

On Friday, August 26 the staff of the Davidsonville Clinic handed over sanitary pads to Roodepoort Primary School as part of their Women’s Month celebrations.

Ward 71 health promoter Dineo Moloi initiated a Women’s Day event to celebrate all women at the Davidsonville Clinic.

Community health workers, Synergistic Covenant Network NPO, Davidsonville Library and Rehabilitation staff members organised and ensured the success of the event.

Davidsonville Clinic manager Boys Thari suggested that a sanitary pads donation should be made to keep a girl child at school during her periods.

Everyone who attended the event was requested to bring a pack of sanitary pads to be donated to Roodepoort Primary School before the end of August.

“Ward 71 has five primary schools, one special and two high schools, and as a health promoter I was requested to adopt one school. I chose Roodepoort Primary School due to its socio-economic challenges in terms of support.

“Women’s Month means fixing another woman’s crown instead of laughing at her,” said Moloi.
